Flat fire – Dogsthorpe - Peterborough

At 11.21am on Friday (11) crews were called to a fire on Somerby Garth in the Welland Estate, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough.  

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and Whittlesey attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a second floor flat. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

The crews returned to their stations by 12.30pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
