Flat fire – Netherton - Peterborough

At 2.46pm on Friday (18) crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to a fire on Cottesmore Close in Netherton. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a bike shed and discarded sofa, which was spreading to a ground floor flat. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. They rescued a cat and two dogs from the building.  

The crews returned to their stations by 4.45pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
