House fire – West Town - Peterborough

At 5.24pm on Saturday (28) crews from the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and Dogsthorpe were called to a fire on Priory Road in West Town, Peterborough. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the kitchen of a house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. They returned to their stations by 6.20pm. 

The house was safely evacuated when the crews arrived.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
