Machinery fire – Mepal - East Cambs

At 1.56pm on Saturday (11) a crew from Chatteris and the north roaming fire engine were called to a fire on Block Fen Road in Mepal.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a straw chopping machine with a conveyor belt. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 4pm.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
