Fire in the open – Witchford - East Cambs

At 10.02pm on Sunday (26) crews from Ely and Littleport were called to a fire on Lancaster Way in Littleport.  

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving around 90 tonnes of baled straw. They extinguished the fire using a hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

The crews returned to their stations by 6.30am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
