Tractor fire - Alconbury Weston - Huntingdonshire

On Sunday (10) at 12.45pm, a crew from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, the north roaming fire engine, Kimbolton, Huntingdon and the water carrier from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a tractor fire on Alconbury Hill, Alconbury Weston.

Crews arrived to find a fire involving farming machinery that had spread to a stubble field. Firefighters used beaters and hose reels to get the fire under control and prevent further spread. Farming machinery was also used to help tackle the fire.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Crews returned to their stations by 4.40pm, before reinspecting the area later in the evening.
