Standing crop fire - Thorney - Peterborough

On Monday (11) at 5.40pm, crews were called to a standing crop fire on Willow Hall Lane, Thorney.

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Thorney, Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and Whittlesey, responded.

Firefighters arrived to find a number of acres of a field alight.

Firefighters used hose reel and beaters to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread.

All crews returned to their stations by 9.40pm.

The cause of the fire was deliberate.
