Fire in the open – Flint Cross - South Cambs

At 5.24pm on Monday (18) crews were called to a fire on the A505 near Flint Cross. 

Crews from Sawston, Cambridge and Linton, along with the south roaming fire engine, the water carrier from Ramsey and crews from Royston and Baldock in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving around 100 acres of farmland and a 100 tonne stack. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and maintained a presence throughout the night to ensure the area was safe. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
