Fire in the open – Sawtry - Huntingdonshire

At 5.14pm on Tuesday (19) crews from Yaxley, Huntingdon, Sawtry, Stanground, Dogsthorpe and Ramsey were called to a fire on Gidding Road in Sawtry.

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire between two field, involving around 500 metres of hedgerow and crops, spreading to a building. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets. They returned to their station by 8.35pm.
