Fire in the open – Eastrea - Fenland

At 2.02pm on Friday crews were called to a fire on Wype Road in Eastrea. 

Crews from Whittlesey, Dogsthorpe, Stanground and the north roaming fire engine attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a large area of farmland and a baler. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 4.30pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
