Fire in the open – Thorney - Peterborough

At 6.41pm on Sunday (24) crews were called to a fire on Archers Drove in Thorney.  

Crews from Thorney, Dogsthorpe and Stanground, along with a crew from Crowland in Lincolnshire, attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a field spreading to around 35 acres. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 9pm. 

The cause of the fire was deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
