Water rescue - City Centre - Peterborough

We were called at 4.21pm on Tuesday to reports of someone in difficulty in water along the river by Embankment Road, Peterborough.

Firefighters from Dogsthorpe and Stanground responded, along with the rescue vehicle.

Specialist water rescue crews assisted police in recovering the casualty from the river.

Firefighters performed CPR and assisted paramedics when they arrived.

Sadly the casualty was pronounced dead at the scene.
