Fire in the open – Sawtry - Huntingdonshire

At 6.07pm on Sunday (7) crews from Huntingdon, Stanground and Dogsthorpe were called to a fire on Gidding Road in Sawtry.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving around 40 acres of standing crop. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and farming machinery and returned to their stations by 8.45pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
