Fires in the open – Pymoor - East Cambs

At 1.19pm on Tuesday (9) crews from Ely and Chatteris, along with the north roaming fire engine, were called to a fire on Pymoor Lane in Pymoor.  

Firefighters arrived to find around five acres of grass field and trees well alight, spreading to nearby properties. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 3.15pm. 

A crew from Cottenham was also called to a fire involving an irrigation pump on Adventures Drove. They extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 3pm. 

The cause of the fires was accidental.
