Horse rescue - Dullingham - East Cambs

On Saturday (3) at 7.30am, crews from Cambridge, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds were called to a rescue a horse on Station Road, Dullingham. A vet also responded to the incident.

They arrived to find 15 year old Joker the horse trapped in a well opening. It was a very complicated rescue that fully tested the skills of the firefighters.

Whilst distressing for the owner, the calm and methodical approach of the crews saw Joker safely extricated from the hole, sustaining relatively minor injuries. Joker is expected to make a full recovery.

All crews returned to their stations by 11.10am.
