Building fire – Orton Southgate - Peterborough

At 11.17am on Tuesday (13) crews from Stanground, Dogsthorpe, Yaxley and Whittlesey were called to a fire on Stapleton Road in Orton Southgate.  

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire in a building involving an industrial oven, with heavy smoke seen coming from the building. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

The crews returned to their stations by 3pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
