House fire – Girton - South Cambs

At 12.48pm on Monday (19) crews from Cottenham, Huntingdon, Burwell and St Neots were called to a fire on St Vincents Close in Girton. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a bedroom of a semi-detached house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

Two casualties required first aid and treatment for smoke inhalation at the scene and were left in the care of ambulance crews. 

The crews returned to their stations by 4.20pm.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
