Chimney fire – Tydd St Giles - Fenland

At 6.13pm on Saturday (7) a crew from Wisbech was called to a fire on High Broadgate in Tydd St Giles.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house and extinguished it. They returned to their station by 7.35pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected at least once a year, preferably before lighting it when the cold weather arrives. This will help to prevent a chimney fire.”
