House fire – Stanground - Peterborough

At 1.29pm on Tuesday (10) crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground and Yaxley, along with the north roaming fire engine, were called to a fire on Spencer Avenue in Stanground, Peterborough.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving the ground and first floors of a house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The property was evacuated when crews arrived. One casualty was taken to hospital by paramedics as a precaution.

The crews returned to their stations by 5.40pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
