16/03/2016

Three car washes run by firefighters have raised more than £2,000 for charity.
On Saturday (March 12) fire service staff and volunteers scrubbed cars at Cambridge, Whittlesey and Chatteris fire stations to raise cash for The Fire Fighters Charity.
- Parkside Place Community Fire and Rescue Station raised £1,205
- Whittlesey Fire Station raised £512
- Chatteris Fire Station raised £475
Martin Ockenden, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service charity representative, said: “These are the first three car washes of 2016 and they have been extremely well supported. In just one day, these efforts raised a total of £2,192 for this worthwhile charity.
“We really appreciate the generosity from the public and local businesses who turn out year after year to support these events as without you, we couldn’t make it happen.”
This Saturday (March 19) Huntingdon Fire Station is running a car wash from 10am until 3pm.
