Open event for St Neots to view exciting improvement plans

An open information evening is being held for the public to view plans to improve St Neots Fire Station.

The improvement plans will see the current drill tower replaced by a modern training facility and other outbuildings demolished and re-built.

The public event to view plans and ask questions will take place at St Neots Fire Station on Thursday, August 4, between 5pm and 9pm.

Area Commander Callum Faint, manager of the project at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: “These improvements are much needed at St Neots as the current training facilities are out of date and it is important to invest in the provision of our frontline firefighters. If anyone living in the town, especially those living nearby, would like to see the plans and ask any questions about the proposals then we would love to see them at the event on August 4.”

A planning application has been submitted to Huntingdonshire District Council to replace the training facilities and outbuildings at the fire station in Huntingdon Street. If planning permission is granted, crews will train at other locations in the area, including at our other training sites, during the construction period.
