Juan Pablo Garcia
This is Pablo, one of our on-call firefighters from Ely.
Pablo joined Ely Fire Station in 2018. He responds to emergencies around his job as a teacher. Since joining he has attended many incidents, stopping fires in houses and businesses, protecting farms and supporting ambulance service colleagues. He has even rescued a cat from a kitchen ceiling.
Helping to integrate into the local community, as well as making friends, are some of the things that Pablo enjoys about being an on-call firefighter. He has also picked up some useful skills, that helped him at home when his partner microwaved something that she shouldn’t have.
Being physically active and adventurous, as well as teamwork are key skills needed to be an on-call firefighter, according to Pablo. Do you have these skills and fancy helping your local community?
