Slawomir Gaczol (Gaz)

Meet Slawomir (known as Gaz) from our Health and Safety team. 

Originally from Poland, Gaz joined the Service in 2017 as a Health and Safety Advisor. He works with teams across all different areas to ensure colleagues are protected and have the correct and safest equipment. He also works to ensure we keep our various accreditations, hosting regular auditors.  

Gaz gained a Chartered membership of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health qualification, which the Service supported and funded. 

In 2020, during the pandemic, Gaz joined Huntingdon Fire Station as an on-call firefighter. He responds to emergencies while at work, helping to make sure the fire engine has a crew during the day.
