House fire - St Ives - Huntingdonshire

We were called at 6.47am yesterday (Sunday January 16) to a report of a house fire in Bowlings Court, St Ives. 

On arrival, crews were faced with a well-developed fire to the first floor of the semi-detached home. 

Two adults and a child had escaped from the house before crews arrived. They were treated by ambulance crews and taken to hospital. 

Four crews (around 20 firefighters) from Huntingdon, Cambridge and Papworth worked hard to tackle the fire which has caused significant damage to the whole of the first floor. The neighbouring house was evacuated as smoke was affecting the property but residents were allowed to return once the fire was out. 

The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
