Fire in the open - New England - Peterborough

On Monday (11) at 9.14am, one crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire in the open on Gilpin Street, New England.

The crew arrived within minutes to find a shed on fire, spreading to fencing and vegetation.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties, before extinguishing the fire altogether.

A firefighter was able to translate for the resident and discovered there was a casualty nearby, who was then treated for burns.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

Crews returned to their station by 10.30am.
