House fire – Werrington - Peterborough

At 11.13pm on Sunday (22) crews were called to a fire on Hythegate in Werrington, Peterborough. 

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground (including the turntable ladder aerial appliance), the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, Thorney and Yaxley attended the incident.  

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving two detached bungalows, with the fire roof space fully involved. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets.  

The property was safely evacuated when crews arrived at the incident.  

The crews returned to their stations by 4.15am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
