Building fire – Newnham ward - Cambridge

At 10.44pm on Tuesday (28) crews from Cottenham and Sawston were called to a fire on Newnham Road in Newnham, Cambridge.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a tumble dryer in a commercial kitchen. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.  

The crews returned to their stations by midnight.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
