Barn fire - Fulbourn - South Cambs

Crews were called to a barn fire on Balsham Road, Fulbourn at around 9am on Tuesday.

Firefighters responded from Cambridge, Sawston, Gamlingay, Huntingdon and the south roaming fire engine.

The incident command unit from Huntingdon, the turntable ladder from Cambridge and a water carrier from Suffolk also attended.

Three crews from Essex and three crews from Suffolk also responded.

Crews arrived to find a barn well alight, which had begun spreading to a neighbouring barn. Baled hay in an open-sided barn was also alight.

Firefighters worked in sectors to get the fire under control and prevent further spread, before scaling down at around 12pm.

No casualties were involved.

The incident is ongoing.
