Fire in the open – Little Downham - East Cambs

At 5.03pm on Friday (16) a crew from Ely was called to a fire on Black Bank Road in Little Downham. 

Firefighters arrived to find an out of control bonfire spreading to nearby peat. They extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their station by 7.10pm. 

Crews made regular inspections over the weekend to check for hot spots and ensure the area was safe.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
