Building fire - Girton - South Cambs

On Thursday (29) at 8.42am, crews were called to a building fire on Huntingdon Road, Girton.

Crews from Cambridge, the south roaming fire engine, Cottenham, St Neots, Huntingdon and Newmarket (Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service), along with the incident command unit and turntable ladder from Huntingdon and Cambridge, responded.

Crews arrived to find a well developed fire in the roof of a building.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters quickly got the fire under control and extinguished the fire.

The incident scaled down at around 10am, before being reinspected at 1pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
