Fire in the open – Eye - Peterborough

At 1.05pm on Sunday (13) a crew from Dogsthorpe was called to a fire on Oxney Grange in Eye, Peterborough. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving around 200 square metres of landfill. Working with onsite staff they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and heavy machinery.  

The crews returned to their station by 5pm. 

Crews made regular inspections over the next few days to ensure the area was safe.  

The cause of the fire was accidental.
