Chimney fire – Shepreth - South Cambs

At 7.01pm on Monday (26) a crew from Cambridge was called to a fire on Fowlmere Road in Shepreth.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house and extinguished it. They returned to their station by 8.45pm.

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.”
