Fire in the open - Ely - East Cambs

At 12.50pm on Thursday 14 September a crew from Ely was called to a fire in the open on Witchford Road in Ely.

Firefighters arrived to find approximately 10 bales of straw well alight which had spread to approximately 50 x 10 metres of field. Using a hose reel the crew extinguished the fire before returning to their station by 2.20pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
