House fire – Bassingbourn - South Cambs

At 9.56am on Wednesday (20) crews were called to a fire on South End in Bassingbourn.

More than 20 firefighters, including crews from Gamlingay, Cambridge, Sawston and Huntingdon, along with crews from Royston, Baldock and Stevenage in Hertfordshire, attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the roof of a detached house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 2.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
