Chimney fire - Wisbech - Fenland

At 7.13pm crews from Wisbech and March were called to a fire on Bowthorpe Road in Wisbech.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a log burner in a house, spreading to the chimney.

They extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 8.12pm.

A fire service spokesman said: "Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening."
