House Fire - Harston - South Cambs

At 3.21am on Wednesday (20) crews from Cambridge and Sawston were called to a house fire on Manor Close in Harston. 

Firefighters arrived to find the house well alight. Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet, then cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan. 

The property was evacuated when the crews arrived. Some casualties required treatment for smoke inhalation and were left in the care of ambulance crews.  

The crews returned to their stations by 6.46am. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
