Building fire – city centre - Peterborough

At 5.40am on Saturday (6) crews from Dogsthorpe and Stanground were called to a fire on Bridge Street in Peterborough city centre.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the basement of a building. They used breathing apparatus, hose reels and CO2 extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Once the fire was out, they dampened down the area and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Crews returned to their stations by 7.13am.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
