Fire in the open – Wilburton - East Cambs

At 5.48pm on Thursday (29) crews were called to a fire on Pools Road in Wilburton. 

More than 20 firefighters, including crews from Ely, Chatteris, Cottenham and Soham, along with the water carrier from Ramsey initially attended the incident.  

Crews arrived to find a fire at a landfill site. They worked hard throughout the night to contain the fire and make sure it was fully extinguished.  

Regular inspections will be taking place to make sure the area is safe.
