House fire – Abbey ward - Cambridge

At 10.04pm on Friday (8) crews from Cambridge and Ely, along with a crew from Newmarket in Suffolk, were called to a fire on Barnwell Road in Abbey ward, Cambridge.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a house in multiple occupation. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and a jet and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The crews returned to their stations by midnight.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
