Fire in the open – Yaxley - Huntingdonshire

On Monday (22) at 6.17pm, crews from Stanground and Yaxley were called to a fire in the open on Askews Lane, Yaxley. 

Firefighters arrived to find an unattended bonfire had spread to nearby bushes and peat. 

Firefighters used a hose reel and peat branch to get the fire under control. 

The incident was reinspected later in the evening. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
