Building fire – Millfield - Peterborough

At 3.44pm on Sunday (12) crews were called to a fire on Lincoln Road in Millfield, Peterborough.

Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, including the turntable ladder, the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade and Thorney, along with the north roaming fire engine, attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in a building used as a take-away restaurant, with living accommodation above. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

A male casualty was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and was left in the care of ambulance crews.

The crews returned to their stations by 6pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
