Building fire - Cambridge - Cambridge

At 4.16pm on Saturday (13) crews from Cambridge, along with the aerial ladder appliance, the north roaming fire engine, Linton, Huntingdon along with the command unit, and Chatteris, along with crews from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Fire and Rescue Service and Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, were called to a fire in a car park at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. More than 30 firefighters attended the incident.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire on the second floor of the car park involving multiple vehicles. They worked hard to contain the fire and stop it from spreading further. Road closures were in place at the hospital while crews dealt with the incident. Firefighters remained on scene throughout the evening and overnight to continue checking for hotspots and to dampen down the area, and to make sure the scene was safe.

A fire investigation to establish the most likely cause of the fire will take place once it is safe to do so.

There were no injuries reported.
