Chimney fire – Eaton Ford - Huntingdonshire

At 4.58pm on Saturday (4) crews from Cambridge were called to a fire on St Neots Road in Eaton Ford.  

Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the chimney of a house and extinguished it.  

They returned to their station by 5.45pm. 

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening. 

“As the weather looks to be turning colder over the coming weeks, now is a good time to get your chimney swept.”
