Chimney fire - Doddington - Fenland

At 6.11pm on Saturday (25) a crew from March was called to a fire on High Street in Doddington.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a chimney in a house. They extinguished the fire and returned to their station by 7.10pm.

A fire service spokesman said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.”
