Chimney fire - Comberton - South Cambs

At 5.45pm on Saturday (15) a crew from Cambridge was called to a chimney fire on Barrons Way in Comberton.

Firefighters used a hose reel and small gear to extinguish the fire and returned to their station by 6.50pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A fire service spokesperson said: “Please ensure that you get your chimney swept and brick work inspected regularly, at least once a year. The debris buildup in the flue can be set alight when heating the home, which could cause a significant fire. Regular chimney maintenance will help prevent this from happening.”
