Building fire - Alwalton Hill - Peterborough

At 10.31am on Saturday (22) crews from Stanground, Dogsthorpe, Sawtry and Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade were called to a building fire on Waterworth Road in Alwalton Hill.

Wearing breathing apparatus, firefighters used hose reels to extinguish a fire in a diesel generator and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The crews returned to their stations by 12.25pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
