Fire in the open – Sawtry - Huntingdonshire

At 2.38pm on Sunday (17) crews were called to a fire on Gidding Road in Sawtry. 

Crews from Sawtry, Stanground and Huntingdon, along with the north roaming fire engine and the water carrier from Ramsey, attended the incident. 

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving around 30 acres of field well alight. They extinguished the fire and returned to their stations by 5.15pm. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
