Shed fire – Meldreth - South Cambs

At 6.55pm on Saturday (20) crews from Cambridge and Gamlingay, along with crews from Royston and Baldock in Hertfordshire, were called to a fire on West Way in Meldreth. 

Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a shed that was quickly spreading to neighbouring properties. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets. 

The crews returned to their stations by 9.30pm. 

Further crews made regular inspections throughout the night and following day to dampen down the area, check for hot spots and ensure the area was safe. 

The cause of the fire was accidental.
