Barn fire - Coates - Fenland

At 4.46am on Saturday (14) two crews from March were called to a barn fire on Duncombes Road in Coates. 

Using hose reels firefighters worked hard to prevent the fire from spreading to the main house. Firefighters used their Smokey Paws oxygen therapy kit to treat several dogs at the scene. Sadly a number of dogs are believed to have died. 

Crews returned to their station by 5.30am. 

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
