Fire in the open - Bassingbourn - South Cambs

At 5.59pm on Friday (21) crews from Cambridge, Cambourne and Royston (Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service) were called to a fire in the open on Spring Lane in Bassingbourn.

Crews arrived to find a stubble field well alight. Firefighters used beaters and a hose reel to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 8.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
